My First Post from Texas during a Texas-Size Storm!!!

Yes, we made it! We have been here in Dallas for a month now. I won't even recall the move; the memories are just too raw and painful! ;) LOL. I hope to NEVER make a move half-way across the country during the Christmas holidays AGAIN!

So far, things couldn't be better. We all love Dallas; we love our new home; both kids LOVE their new schools; we found a new church that we love; and we have met some wonderful new friends. That's a whole lotta love, isn't it! In all seriousness, we are confident that we are in the center of God's will for our family because everything has come together for us so seamlessly and effortlessly! We are beyond thankful for our blessings!

I had all but decided to stop blogging. I have been doing it so infrequently and quite frankly, didn't know what was the point. I have heard recently, however, that several people whom I wasn't even aware, keep up with our family through the blog. So, I've decided to continue, and I hope to update much more often. I don't think the cable car theme is going to work though. :)

Today we woke up to a blanket of ice! All of the area schools are closed. It has been snowing lightly for the last several hours. This is completely foreign to us. With a sensory seeking, ADHD kiddo on my hands, I am praying that the schools aren't closed for long! Being cooped up indoors is NOT our strong suit. It is going to get down to 10 degrees tonight with a wind chill of minus 3!! This California girl is NOT used to this! I must admit that it is nice looking at the white backdrop from the comfort of our nice warm, cozy home.

SO much has transpired in our lives over the last several months. If only for record-keeping sake, I hope to write about it over time before the memories become too faint. Until my next post, I hope your hearts and homes are warm wherever you are!

Here is what we woke up to this morning!!

Care for a dip?

Toto, we're not in California anymore!

To my Cali friends, those are icesicles hanging from my car!!!!

Hot tub anyone?

Indoor wrestling to get our energy out!

Who says girls can't wrestle too!

Much more like it! Stay warm wherever you are. :)

Hi Tisha,

So happy to see you pop up in my google reader!!

Sounds like you all are getting adjusted to your new home and new city..... I am glad that you are going to continue to blog and eventually talk about all that has transpired since your move!!

This weather is absolutely insane.... stay warm and be safe! Doesn't look like you will be "taking a dip" in the pool or hot tub anytime soon:)

Best Wishes~

xoxo,

Lisa

Imagine moving to Texas for snow - lol!

Ok, seriously we have many, many feet of snow here so to me the little dusting seems cute. Yes, icicles grow off cars, roofs, stop signs and pretty much anything metal.

I do hope you are keeping warm and looking forward to your next post.
BTW, your new home looks beautiful! Glad your're settling in.

So happy to hear from you Tisha. I'm so glad you are going to keep blogging- can't wait to hear more about your new house and your move. It has certainly been a nasty winter, for most of the country. I was just watching the groundhog ceremony live on TV and he predicted that there will be an early spring so hang in there!!! I'm hoping and praying he is right. Since moving to NJ from GA 5 yrs. ago, we have never experienced this much snow, ice, and bad weather. Both my boys will be home from school today along with my husband so I will be at my wit's end in a few hrs!!!! Glad you are back!

Glad you arrived in your new home safe and sound. I always look forward to updates from your lovely family. We are Joe and Jen customers too. We too have a (grown up) child with ADHD. We too are experiencing snow and ice (NY-style for us!). Hope you see God's beauty in it and enjoy. What other option is there really? We've had three snow days so far and that's all that allocated. Hmmm...

Stop by my blog sometime if you like!

I was so happy to see you had posted to your blog. I have been wondering about you. Glad to hear the move went well and you are all getting settled in.

My friend lives in Austin and she texted me yesterday telling me it was snowing.

I think my favorite pic is the icesicles hanging from the hot tub. Priceless!!!

Hugs, and keep the updates coming!!!

Every time I think about throwing in the towel on the 'ol blog, I think about how much I would love it if my mother would have written weekly or even monthly about our family activities and memories. It would be a treasure! And blog-land friendships are a huge bonus! So glad you're back, sweet friend--looking forward to being in touch with your family and following your Big adventures in Texas!

Beautiful neighborhood.
I'm also in Dallas, so if there anything I can do for you, please let me know. I think you'll find Dallas to be very friendly.
