Ni Hao! Kensie's First Day of Preschool, Again!

Some of you may remember that Kensie had a couple of "first" days of preschool. Well now it's first day, take three. This morning, Miss K started a Mandarin immersion preschool class. She is going to do Mandarin two mornings a week, and Spanish one afternoon a week. I wrote a post recently about why I think early foreign language immersion is important. Well, I am putting my money where my mouth is and Kensie is diving into language immersion. She has had some separation anxiety lately and never wants me to leave her. We went on Friday to the school for one hour and I stayed with her. But surprisingly today, she went in and sent me on my merry way with a kiss. That warms a mom's heart in any language.

Some of you have asked for some pics of our home here in SF. That will be my next post. Until then, adios and zaijian!

Hooray for Kensie!! It is such a comfort knowing that she is happy at school and not feeling anxiety from knowing you are not with her. It sounds like she is going to be learning tons. Learning Spanish will be such a nice treat when you visit Mexico.

Love her adorable little smile!!

Mandarin immersion is a great idea. My seven year old is in full Mandarin immersion in grade 2. My three year old will start a program hopefully next year. We love it so much that DD#2 is going to spend two weeks in a public school in China in the spring..so we shall see whether her program here has really taken hold. It will be great. Great to see how Kenzie is growing. What a beautiful little girl.
Take care. CTG

Hello,
I found your blog while searching for information about the Brain Highways program. Your kids are so cute! We are taking our daughter in for a screening this weekend. We are fortunate enough to live close by to the center. I just wondered if it was worth it for your son? Did you see positive results? Thank you for any info you could share with me! My email is knoxgrad@hotmail.com

Thank you,
Liz S.
