Tomorrow, senorita Kensie and I are headed to our casa in Mexico. We are going to have a chicas trip whereas a couple of my girlfriends will join us. Later, the friends will move out and Chad and Sloan will move in, and we'll spend some time there together as a family. I had planned to bring Sloan as well, but Chad didn't want to stay home alone and doesn't want him to miss football. Sloan has started youth tackle football. Yes, you read that right. Our Russian powerhouse is playing in a K-2 tackle football league. Admittedly, I think he is awfully young, but I was out-voted on this one. These tikes have practice EVERY night from 6:00-8:30pm!!!!! But, if there was ever a six-year-old kid to have the temperment and energy for this, it is our Sloanie.

I won't have a laptop the first part of my trip, so I won't be able to post until Chad arrives. If anyone is wondering, I'm not worried about the Swine Flu (no documented cases in our area and it's already spread to most of the world); I'm not concerned about the drug wars (thousands of miles from us, and we're not drug dealers anyway (LOL)), and we never get sick (we have purified water). Mexico is such a beautiful, welcoming country and it is a shame that it has been batterd by such negative publicity. The paranoia that has been spread has really hurt the Mexican people. Here is a wonderful link that helps reveal the truth about Mexico and counters many of the false stereotypes and perceptions. So pack a bathing suit, dust off the old Spanish dictionary, and come to Mexico for a relaxing, cultural, and culinary experience. Mexico is open for business and bienvenidos (welcome)to all!
