Swinging into Summer

It's not officially summer yet, but we have swung into summer nonetheless. Sloan has already been out of school for almost three weeks. Our first two weeks of vacation were a bit slow because public schools weren't out here yet. So you would think with all of that time on my hands, I would have had more time for blogging. The problem is that the more time I have, I find there is less to blog about. Otherwise, I might bore to tears the whole 10 followers that I have.(That probably includes the present post as well) And I want you to know how much I appreciate all 10 of you!!!! :)

But now, our summer routine has begun. Sloan started his first sports camp at our golf club. They do tennis, golf, fitness and swimming. He is loving every minute of it. It was hilarious for our six-year-old to be telling us about his yoga class. Next week, it will be Vacation Bible School.

Last Friday, we went with Chad to the Bay Area for a meeting and took the kids on BART. They loved it! Sloan kept referring to it as a "bullet train." Chad has clients here from the Dominican Republic and I will be leaving the kids for a couple of days and heading to San Francisco with him to help entertain them. Thank you Auntie Katie and Uncle Chris!!!

We hope this is just the beginning of many fun-filled summer days with family and friends.

On the adoption front, a BIG congrats to our friends Andrew and Jenn who just brought their son, Jeremy home from Haiti. He is an absolute doll! Though their wait for Jeremy was long, God was faithful! We are so happy for them. Another friend of mine from college is headed to Taiwan this week to bring home her precious baby daughter, and a blog friend Michelle and her husband are also headed to China to bring their precious 10 year-old daughter home as well. Please keep these families in your prayers. My heart just swells with joy when I think of God's great plans for these children and their new, forever families.

Here is a bit of what we've been up to:131

This last shot of Kensie was taken by "her" Sloanie. :) Maybe Sloan can help give me some "artistic direction" with my shots. ;) Good job Sloan!

Hope you all are having a good start to your "almost" summer!

I was just wondering the other day about you. It sounds like your summer is going to be pretty busy. Then again, once you have kids, aren't all your days busy?

Your kids are adorable. Kensie is getting so big and I LOVE the little dress she is wearing in the last pictures.

Glad to see a post and some pictures- and no, it is not boring! :-)

Great pictures of the kids- the one of Kensie at Fashion Fair cracks me up... a little shopper like her mommy I suppose??!! And we are hoping to go to the zoo again soon, hopefully before this beautiful weather turns HOT! Looks like the kids had fun!
Take care :-)

Tisha ... you probably didn't know that Tyler & I lived in Monterey as newlyweds. So of course I loved the beach photos from Carmel. How far away are you from that area? We have such fond memories from the Bay area. It is SOOOO hot in Hong Kong, I cannot imagine needing jackets at the beach. Looks wonderful! Blessings, Kim

Tisha, this is my first visit to your blog. I came over from Kim's blog Everyday Adventures in Faith. Isn't it exciting to hear of her adventures? I noticed your comment about getting married in Carmel Presbyterian Church. Carmel is one of my favorite places to visit. I have a photo along the 17 Mile Drive on the bottom of my blog Heart Choices. My friend and her husband rent a house for two months in Carmel every summer. I've visited them three times and fell in love with the village. What a wonderful place to go. Anyway, just wanted to say hi. I'll check back again. You have a lovely family, I must say.
