Feliz Cinco de Mayo

Hope you all had a festive Cinco de Mayo. I had planned on posting this much earlier but had computer download difficulties. Technically though, it is still Cinco de Mayo on the West Coast. :)

Have you ever wondered why Mexico celebrates this holiday and its significance? It is commonly mistaken for Mexican Independence Day but that holiday is September 16th. Here is the reason as told by our kindergartner who learned this in Spanish class today:

Also an "hola" from our Kensie as well DSC03320

Ahora vamos a celebrar! Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

That is too cute of Sloan. I love hearing kids' interpretations of things. What a cutie.

And Kensie looks very festive in her sombrero as well. I LOVE the dress. I am assuming you got it on your last trip to Mexico? If not, can you let me know where you did get it?

Hi Tisha,
Wow - am I late!! I just love when I get to hear sweet voices of the children I typically only get to see pictures of. Sloan is such a smart kid!

I hope you are in the midst of a great week!!
